Trentino Alto Adige

Starting from
Days of execution: Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday

Trentino-Alto Adige is the northernmost Italian region and is considered almost entirely mountainous with the exception of the places of the Adige Valley and the Valle dei Laghi below 200m and therefore considered plain. In particular, there are two large flat areas in the Province of Trento: the Piana Rotaliana and the Piana dell’Alto Garda. The mountain ranges rise up to altitudes of over 3900 m. In the southern part of the region, near the Trentino shore of Lake Garda, the altitude drops to 65 m a.s.l. With its 13607 km², Trentino-Alto Adige is one of the least densely populated Italian regions as it hosts around 1 050 000 inhabitants with a density of 78.98 inhabitants / km², far below the national average, ranking fifth before the Valle d'Aosta, Basilicata, Sardinia and Molise in the ratio between number of inhabitants and territorial surface. Considering the orography of the territory, there are significant differences between the density of inhabitants of the high mountain areas (where depopulation and migration to the cities of the main valleys have occurred) and that of the main valleys, in particular the Valley dell'Adige, where Trento and Bolzano are located.
